deep_fantasies [2021-Ongoing]
Deep fantasies function as hyperreal extensions of a modern world that lives under the constant shadow of dystopia. Modernity sustains the present through critical reinterpretations of the past, while the narrative of demonizing the old transforms the future into an irresistible promise—one in which tomorrow is always imagined as better. But what if we reverse this logic? What if we understand the present through dystopian visions of the future? This work explores that inversion, examining how the fear of what is to come shapes our perception of what is now. It proposes that the future is not merely a horizon we move toward, but a lens that already conditions the way we live today.
